CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS
Character is very important in the life of a young girl forming the foundation of her maturity and growth into a woman of integrity. Inner character, or the lack thereof, will eventually show itself in who we become outwardly. Abraham Lincoln said it best, “Character is like a tree and reputation is like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.”
Godly character takes a lifetime to develop. Teaching girls character attributes such as humility, honesty, patience, courage, self-control, compassion and love while they are young will help them develop inner strength and strong moral values. This way girls are not so vulnerable to low self-esteem with their self-worth inwardly motivated rather than outwardly pursued by the superficial beliefs of others. GAOSW not only helps girls develop good character; we set the right example for girls to follow.

SPIRITUAL AWARENESS SESSIONS
Girls are much more than a face and a physical, external body. There is an unseen, immaterial spirit within them that comes from God who is love. The Bible explains in Genesis 2:7, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” This “breath of life” is a girl’s inner spirit.
As girls become acquainted with the spirit of love within them and believe they are much more than what meets their physical eyes, they deepen their self-value and spiritual awareness. In their innermost being, girls come to realize they were placed in this earth to bring light through goodness and love; they live with a divine purpose understanding who they are.
Spiritual awareness empowers girls and nurtures within an inner beauty that will never fade. It is a beauty that comes not from a girl’s face, physical attractiveness, or anything external. It is an eternal, inner beauty that comes from a beautiful spirit and a beautiful soul…the beauty of holiness (2 Chronicles 20:21).

SOCIAL SKILLS AND ETIQUETTE
There is a proper way to behave in social settings and an improper way. Proper behavior is referred to etiquette. Etiquette is polite behavior among others in society knowing how to conduct oneself. Girls who maintain good social skills and proper manners, oftentimes, are more confident and likeable by others. They foster the social skills that help them succeed in school and other social settings as they continue to mature and grow into women.
Developing social skills and etiquette, girls also learn to respect and honor their bodies. They do this through learning personal hygiene and establishing healthy boundaries while also respecting and honoring the boundaries of others.
